Ghana and Sunderland defender John Mensah is rooting for England to win the bid for the 2018 World Cup. The Sunderland defender told Safc.com England is the ideal place to stage the global football showpiece.

The Black Stars skipper said: “Having played a part in the World Cup just gone I know what a fantastic tournament it is. I love playing my football in England and this is an ideal stage for a World Cup.”

The successful bid will be announced on December 2 in Zurich.
