President Ernest Koroma of Sierra Leone reshuffled his cabinet at the weekend that saw the dismissal of justice and trade ministers. Koroma replaced his minister of foreign affairs, a statement read on state television said.
Foreign Minister Zainab Bangura was redeployed to head the Health Ministry and was replaced by a former vice president under an earlier regime, Joseph Duada.
According to Reuters, no reason was given for the cabinet reshuffle, although the move was widely anticipated by local media in recent weeks.
Koroma is reportedly expected to run for re-election in 2012 as the West African country recovers from a 10-year civil war that ended in 2002.
