Mogadishu — More fighters loyal to Al shabaab Jihadist movement detained at leat 20 people in Elasha Biyaha, where is said to be a shelter for hundreds of thousands displaced Somalis, witnesses said on Saturday.
Most of detainees, including women, were Khat dealers and Al shabaab accused them of selling Kaht banned areas in the Elasha, according residents.
The arrest of those people came after Al shabaab fighters set a fire to more bundles of green leaves of Khat.
After the merger of Somalia's two main Islamist insurgent groups, Al shabaab has taken over the towns, villages and other areas under the destroyed Hizbu Islam.
Since then, Al shabaab started to commit actions against civilian people in the IDPs areasjust outside Mogadishu, according to local resident in Elasha Biyaha, who asked his name not be used in the media.
