Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is to pay an official visit to Tunisia on Monday at the invitation of his Tunisian counterpart, Yemen News Agency (SABA) said on Sunday.
During his two-day visit, Abbas is expected to hold talks with Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali on the latest Palestinian developments, the Tunisian presidency said in a release.
The visit is part of the Palestinian leader's efforts to rally up regional and international support for a Palestinian state on the pre-1967 border.
Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia and Ecuador have already recognized a Palestinian state.
