20110120 angop Havana - Angola's vice-president, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, on Wednesday in Havana laid a wreath by the monument of Cuban hero, JosĂ© MartĂ, Angop learnt.
The homage was paid at “Praça de la Revolucion”, at a ceremony witnessed by theCuban authorities and members of the Angolan Government, that are part of the delegation visiting the Latin American nation.
During the ceremony, the national anthems of Angola and Cuba were sung, followed by a tour of José Martà memorial.
Born on January 28, 1853, and died in May 1895, José Martà is recognised as the intellectual author of the Cuban revolution.
Meanwhile, the Angolan Vice-president said José Martà is a universal hero, as many peoples sought inspiration on him in their struggles for independence and freedom.
