20110213 presstv Egypt's new military rulers have dissolved the parliament and suspended the constitution days after a historic revolution ousted President Hosni Mubarak.
Parliament was dominated by Mubarak's ruling National Democratic Party.
The military also announced that it would form a transitional government for six months before a civilians government is elected, a Press TV correspondent reported.
The measures were announced as protesters re-gathered at Cairo's Liberation Square after being dispersed by the security forces on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, Egyptian army clashed with protesters who were refusing to leave Liberation Square.
Protesters say they are skeptical about and rapid transition toward democracy and civilian rule and maintain that the demonstrations will continue until all their demands are met.
The developments come two days after President Hosni Mubarak handed over power to Egypt's Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, which is headed by Defense Minister Gen. Mohammed Tantawi.
