ANKARA, March 4 (Xinhua) -- A ship carrying more than 800 Syrians from Libya arrived in a southwestern Turkish port on Friday as Turkey continued to evacuate foreigners from the violence-hit North African country.
The Syrian-owned ship set sail from Libya's Misurata city on Tuesday and brought 806 Syrians to Turkey's Marmaris port, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.
The Syrians would take buses to return to their country, said the report.
Some other foreigners from countries like Egypt, Algeria and Jordan were also aboard the ship.
Turkey has evacuated nearly 21,600 people, including 2,985 foreigners, from Libya to Turkey by sea and air as of Friday, the Prime Ministry said.
Some 25,000-30,000 Turkish nationals were working or living in Libya before violence swept the country amid protests against the Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
