Guinea-Bissau : Guinea Bissau president says to expand cooperation with China

BISSAU, March 10 (Xinhua) -- Guinea Bissau's President Malam Bacai Sanha said on Wednesday the country will further expand cooperation with China while receiving a delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

When meeting with the delegation led by Head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Wang Jiarui, the president said Guinea Bissau appreciates the support and assistance that China has offered over the years, and is satisfied with the development of friendly and cooperative relations between the two nations.

The president said Guinea Bissau will adhere to the one-China policy, continue to expand bilateral cooperation and exchanges so as to benefit peoples of both sides.

For his part, the visiting Chinese senior official said the long-term friendship between China and Guinea Bissau is in the interests of both countries and peoples. Wang said the two countries have always supported each other and their friendly relationship is deep-rooted and fruitful.

Wang said China is willing to further enhance cooperation and will continue to provide assistance for the African country.

The visiting official also met with Guinea Bissau's Prime Minister Carlos Gomes on Wednesday on cooperation.
