Luanda – Matters concerning academic and professional training of youths were discussed Wednesday in Luanda by the ministers of Education and Higher Education and Science and Technology, Mpinda Simão and Maria de Cândida Pereira Teixeira, respectively, and the national first secretary of the ruling party’s youth wing (JMPLA), Sérgio Luther Rescova.

During separate meetings held in Luanda, SĂ©rgio Rescova spoke of the main problems
concerning the youths, with a view to their solution.

The meetings are part of the Youth Programme being carried out by JMPLA, under the
celebrations of April 14, the Angolan Youth’s Day.

SĂ©rgio Luther Rescova said the sector of education is one of those that grew bigger since
peace was achieved in the country in 2002, with 6.2 million students and about 250,000
teachers.

The youth organisation leader spoke of the need for a better education in the country.

To the politician, academic training must be associated with a stand of citizenship and
patriotism, so the youth can gain a decent education and become useful in the country’s
development effort.

According to him, JMPLA will continue with projects linked to motivation, exaltation and
promotion of academic success at all levels of the education system.

He stated that his organisation will also encourage the youth to work in any region of the
country.

As o the higher education, he stated that JMPLA presented to incumbent minister suggestions for expansion of internal scholarship system, curricula quality and control of the teaching activity.
