Harare — South African President Jacob Zuma will soon meet leaders of political parties in Zimbabwe's coalition government to discuss the reform of the security, which has been identified as the major obstacle to a credible election.
Army, police, prison and intelligence commanders have vowed to never salute Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai even if he beats President Robert Mugabe in an election.
The generals are also accused of spearheading the 2008 violence that forced Mr Tsvangirai, winner of the first round of the presidential elections to drop from the June 27 run-off poll.
President Mugabe eventually ran unopposed but his victory was rejected by the international community forcing him to negotiate a power sharing deal with his rivals.
Negotiators from Zimbabwe's three governing parties met in Cape Town, South Africa last week to discuss a roadmap to fresh elections and they resolved that President Zuma will meet Mr Mugabe and Mr Tsvangirai over security sector reforms.
