JOHANNESBURG, June 13 (Xinhua) -- South Africa's Premier League club Lamontville Golden Arrows have signed a one-year contract with German coach Ernst Middendorp with the option to renew, it has been confirmed by managing director Manto Madlala on Monday.

Middendorp joined the southern KwaZulu-Natal side during the January open window period from Maritzburg United and was only offered a short term contract until the end of June.

But the former Kaizer Chiefs and Asante Kotoko coach has done more than enough to convince Madlala that he deserved much more than a temporary assignment and has now been given an opportunity to rebuild the team that played the most delightful football under former coach Manqoba Mngqithi who is now with AmaZulu.

Arrows are also looking for a goalkeeper and two wingers before the start of the season, but Madlala is not prepared to divulge who the players she has in mind are.

Meanwhile, Moroka Swallows have also gone on a serious recruiting campaign and believed to have agreed terms with former Mpumalanga Black Aces striker Mpho Maleka in a one year deal with an option to renew it.

The Dube Birds who spent the better part of the season struggling to flap their wings and fly out of the dreaded relegation zone until the final day of the campaign, are also interested in striker Diyo Sibisi who was on loan from Ajax Cape Town to Maritzburg United.

And coach Gordon Igesund who has just beefed up the team with the signing of Joseph Makhanya, has also expressed keen interest in the services of underutilized Mamelodi Sundowns striker Richard Henyekane.
