20110616 Reuters ABUJA (Reuters) - A radical Islamist sect is suspected to be behind a bomb in Nigeria's capital Abuja on Thursday that left dead bodies scattered in a police station car park, a police spokesman said.
"Definitely we are suspecting the Boko Haram sect," Olusola Amore, Nigerian police spokesman told Reuters.
Boko Haram, which says it wants a wider application of sharia (Islamic law) in Africa's most populous nation, has been behind almost daily attacks in northeastern Nigeria and has warned it will carry out further strikes across the country if its demands are not met.
