20110627 xinhua TUNIS, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Between 14,000 to 18,000 people will be excluded from Tunisia's elections for the Constituent Assembly due to be held on Oct. 3, 2011, the official TAP press agency reported on Monday.
The ban includes officials from the former ruling Constitutional Democratic Rally (RCD) party and people having called for the former president's re-election in 2014, TAP quoted an official in charge of the issue as saying.
The exclusion measure concerns members of the party's political bureau, the central committee, the coordination and federation committees, the chairmen of territorial cells, the federations of professional cells, as well as RCD administrative agents. The list of the people excluded from the elections is expected to be made public soon.
