20110627 xinhua TUNIS, June 27 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Under-Secretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns said his country will spare no efforts to support Tunisia's transition, TAP reported on Monday.
The U.S. official who arrived in Tunis on Monday, met with the country's foreign affairs minister Mouldi Kefi.
Burns said it was important for the United States, the international community and the people in the Middle East to contribute to the success of region's transitional phase.
On his part, Tunisia's foreign affairs minister hailed U.S. commitment to mobilize international support in favor of Tunisia within the G8 and international financial institutions, TAP said.
Last week, a group of U.S. businessmen visited the North African country to identify investment opportunities.
