20110629 xinhua TUNIS, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Hundreds of lorry trucks loaded with rice and flour were queuing up at dawn on Tuesday at the Ras El Jedir crossing border point to receive customs clearance before entering Libya, the official TAP press agency reported.
The resumption of economic activity coincides with the return to normal of customs operations at the border point after a disruption during the weekend.
A number of the lorry trucks drove from the port of Zarzis in southern Tunisia where they downloaded tons of rice and flour from Russian ships destined to the Libyan population.
The head of customs at Ras El Jedir stressed that the monitoring of goods to and from Libya had been strengthened for both economic and security reasons, according to TAP.
