20111119 Press TV Hundreds of people have held another protest rally in Morocco , calling for a boycott of the country's upcoming parliamentary elections, Press TV reports.
Wednesday's protest was led by an opposition group known as the February 20 Movement as Moroccan candidates began their campaigns for the November 25 elections.
Police arrested twelve activists from the February 20 Movement during the rally.
The anti-government movement formed when Moroccans, inspired by the revolutions in Tunisia and Egypt, on February 20 first began their anti-government demonstrations.
The elections are part of a reform process ostensibly meant to limit the powers of King Mohammed VI and to transfer some of his authority to parliament.
The government has said it's working on a package of reforms which will give more power to the elected parliament.
But the Moroccan opposition and activists have rejected the planned reforms, describing the vote as a sham.
A visiting delegation from the Council of Europe has predicted a low turn-out for the elections.
