20111211 Press TV Post-election clashes in the Democratic Republic of the Congo have left at least six people, including two women, dead and several more injured.
The victims were shot dead in clashes between police and protesters in the capital Kinshasa on Saturday, DPA reported.
On Friday, incumbent President Joseph Kabila was declared the winner of the presidential election, but the main opposition has disputed the results.
Kabila, who has been in power since 2001, won the vote with 49 percent, defeating 10 other candidates, the country's election commission said.
His main rival Etienne Tshisekedi, who came in second with 32 percent of the vote, declared himself president shortly after the official results were released.
"I consider myself the elected president," he said.
While international observers have said there were irregularities, they have declined to call for an annulment of the vote.
