20111212 Press TV Several people have reportedly been injured in a double explosion that rocked the Nigerian city of Jos- - the scene of recent conflicts between ethnic groups.
"Two bombs have just exploded in Jos. We are yet to establish the numbers of casualties, but reports I got said some people were injured," Pam Ayuba, a spokesman for the governor of Plateau state, told AFP on Saturday.
One of the blasts took place near a bar where people were watching the Barcelona-Real Madrid soccer match.
The other explosion occurred in an area where Christian and Muslim ethnic groups have often clashed, the report added.
“That's one of the most notorious flashpoints of the city,” Ayuba said.
Jos is the capital of Plateau state, which has been the scene of violence in recent years between ethnic groups, which has claimed the lives of thousands of people, reports indicate.
