20120102 AP LAMU, Kenya (AP) — The Red Cross says a passenger boat on the Kenyan coast has capsized, killing at least seven people and leaving more than two dozen missing.
The Red Cross said Monday that authorities are searching for the missing, but that a high tide is hampering the efforts. The aid group said at least seven people are confirmed killed, 25 were rescued and 23 swam to shore.
The boat capsized near the resort town of Lamu, which lies on Kenya's Indian Ocean coastline near the border with Somalia.
