20120115 AP MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (AP) — Authorities say at least four people have been killed in two attacks on outside beer gardens in Nigeria.
Adamawa police commissioner Ade Shinaba said Saturday that one attack occurred Friday night near Yola, with two customers being killed and one police officer getting wounded.
The other attack happened Friday night in the outskirts of Gombe, the state capital of Gombe state. There, witnesses said at least two people died and others were wounded. Local police confirmed the attack happened, but declined to give other details.
The attacks come amid an increasing sectarian wave of violence by the radical Islamist sect known as Boko Haram. Authorities said they had no suspects and made now arrests over the Friday night attacks.
