20120305 AFP The Nigerian armed militant group MEND which last week claimed the killing of four marine policemen in the the oil-rich Niger Delta said Sunday it was at "war" with the nation's security agents.
"We are at war with all arms of the Nigerian security services and as such, members of the Nigeria police will be attacked as the opportunity presents itself," it said in an email statement to AFP.
It did not give further details.
The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) earlier said that Thursday's attack on a marine police checkpoint in the southern Bayelsa state in which four policemen were killed "was carried out by our fighters".
